About our Fly Fishing Trips
What to expect when fishing with us
Our guided fly fishing trips take place in and around the central belt of the North Island, with our home on the mighty Tongariro River and Taupo Fisheries. If you are looking for experienced guiding services for backcountry, river or lake trips, these are our home waters; Jason has years of experience to ensure you have a first-class fishing experience.
You can choose from a variety of trips; including walk-n-wade fly fishing, heli fishing or raft trips. You will be surrounded by spectacular vistas and explore remote valleys. There are great trips for all abilities, from seasoned anglers to those new to fly fishing.

Very excited to acquire a private fishing block with easy access to all sight fishing with good size browns and rainbows and guided free hunting on three perfect blocks for red deer/ fallow and Sika.

Guiding Flyfishing
Jason really can tailor your trip to your experience and likes whether it’s fishing the Tongariro with nymph /wet fly and something most people don’t realize the Tongariro is an absolutely amazing dry fly river
or the trophy trout at lake Otamangakau or one of the many beautiful backcountry streams.
All prices are for 1 to 3 people.
Includes all gear needed + lunch and refreshments only extra cost is a fishing license ($25.00 per day)

Half-day, Full Day, Two or Three-day excursions
- Half-day or whole-day local fishing? or are you looking for a two-day fishing trip? We can help you with accommodation. If you prefer to stay at a Bach, Bed & Breakfast or one of our local Lodges, we can recommend the best accommodation for your budget and needs.
- Are you looking for wilderness hunting or fishing excursion for several days and nights? We can discuss with you your accommodation requirements and help you organise, depending on location and availability.
- We can offer more extensive multi-day trips; let’s chat; we can do a mix of fishing and hunting.
- Jason can arrange a heli fishing trip for quick access to some of our pristine wilderness rivers if your time is limited.
New to Fly Fishing??
If you have little fly fishing experience, don’t worry! Jason can take you from beginner to enthusiastic angler, and you certainly will enjoy your day, learning new skills and having fun!! Check out some of our reviews; you will feel reassured.

We have access to some private water brilliant sight fishing $100.00 per rod per day overnight option.
Raft fishing add another $800.00
Helicopter fishing from $1500.00 extra really recommends an overnight fishing trip with a stay in a private hut.

You can bring your fly fishing tackle, or you can rent some great gear from us; just let us know we can have it ready for you.

I hired Jason for a single day back country fishing trip. It was the best day ever!!!! I landed about 10 fish. One 7 lb. rainbow, one 6 lb. brown, three 5 lb. rainbows and the rest were all in the 3 to 4 lb. range. Jason was awesome! Trudged across the river to pull my line off a rock I could get the 4 lb. brown! Hope I can return some day!!!
