The inside of the pliers is sandblasted for non-slip processing. The edge of the tip is rounded all around to catch the hackle stalk firmly and make it hard to damage with the edge. When you wind the hackle with the shock absorber of the joint, it expands and contracts to the extent that you do not lose the delicate feeling of your fingertips.
